Distribution. Western Atlantic: USA (Florida), Bahamas, Cuba, Trinidad, Tortugas, Curaçao, and Barbados ( Rathbun 1930).

Material examined. Barbados, Carlisle Bay , St. Michael, subtidal, 13°05’07.15”N, 59°36’36.90”W, 1 Ô CW: 12.9 mm ( BLSZ 122 ) .

Remarks. The single specimen of Heteractaea ceratopus was caught in crab traps placed on sandy bottom (~ 4m deep) on the southwest coast of Barbados. Rathbun (1921: 74) reported specimens (one male, one female, USNM 68849) collected by the Barbados-Antigua Expedition in 1918. Additional specimens (two males, one female, USNM 69061; one male, four females, USNM 76078; one juvenile, USNM 76106; one female, USNM 76105; two females, USNM 58004) were collected during this expedition, but were not reported by Rathbun.
