Biology: The caterpillars inhabit dead wood and pore fungi and construct portable cases ( Fig. 8 View FIGURES 1 – 8 ). The larvae feed on dried fruits in houses and attack stale products in food stores ( Zagulajev, 1964). They were found infesting mushrooms in Tianjin and Beijing and ice-mushrooms in Jilin province in our study.

Distribution: China (Beijing, Tianjin, Jilin, Shaanxi, Xinjiang), Kazakhstan, Russia (Siberia).

Diagnosis: This species is characterized by the forewing having a dark brown transverse band at about 2/ 5, slightly narrowed anteriorly; the valvae subrectangular in distal 2/5, the juxta with two small sclerotized arc-shaped structures ventrally and a subrectangular membranous structure dorsally, and the phallus bifurcated at distal 1/ 3 in the male genitalia ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES 9 – 12 ); the sternum VIII somewhat broadly M-shaped basally, and the antrum somewhat cup-shaped in the female genitalia ( Fig. 17 View FIGURES 16 – 20 ).
