Specimens examined:— CHIN. Mindat District : 1465 m, 28 Apr 1956, Kingdon-Ward 22166 ( BM) . SHAN. Unspecified: May−Jun 2014, Watthana & Win Win Nwe OR-009 ( MBK) . KAYIN. Hpa-an District : fide Aung et al. (2020: 92). TENASSERIM. Types. Reported from Mandalay Region, Mon State and Tanintharyi Region by Kress et al. (2003: 83), but we have not seen material from these areas.
Distribution:— Pakistan, India, the Himalayas, Myanmar, Thailand, Indochina, southwestern, central and southern China, Taiwan and Malesia as far east as New Guinea, northern Australia and the islands of the Pacific.
Note:— We cannot identify the plant named N. plicata in Nyan Tun (2014: 335); it may be new.
