Lectotype (Cecchi in Ferrarini & Cecchi in Webbia 56: 245. 2001): Herb. Linn. No. 185.1 ( S) .

Current name: Silene vallesia L. subsp. vallesia View in CoL ( Caryophyllaceae ).

Note: Cecchi, in her formal type designation, gives LINN as the location of the type. However, as she also listed three numbered sheets with their correct herbaria in her discussion, this is treated as a correctable error.
