Current name: Sophora japonica L. View in CoL ( Fabaceae : Faboideae ).

Note: This name does not appear to have been typified, although several authors (e.g. Sousa & Rudd in Ann. Missouri Bot. Gard. 80: 273. 1993) indicate (presumably from the protologue) unspecified Kleynhoff material as type. Isely (in Mem. New York Bot. Gard. 25: 251. 1981) dismissed material in LINN from consideration in typification, and Sousa & Rudd also note that 522.9 (LINN) is not identifiable with the current usage of the name.
