3. Woznessenskia brevisa sp. nov.

(Figs. 9–15, 24, 27, 31)

FIGURES 9–15. Woznessenskia brevisa sp. nov.: 9. R-M and CuA1-CuA2 areas of tegmina; 10. apex of male abdomen in lateral view; 11. apex of male abdomen in apical view; 12. subgenital plate of male in ventral view; 13. head and pronotum in dorsal view; 14. frons in frontal view; 15. apex of process of male tenth abdominal tergite in lateral view; scale bars = 1mm.

Male. Body large for the genus. Distance between antennal sockets equal to width of scape. Eyes ellipsoidal, obviously protruding. Fore margin of pronotum slightly prominent, hind margin nearly straight; lateral lobe subrectangular, high slightly shorter than length, humeral sinus indistinct. Tegmina considerably surpassing apices of hind femora, about 2.4 times as long as hind femora, media vein arises singly from base of tegmen; R-M and CuA1- CuA2 areas of tegmina separated from each other along entire length by intermediate area. Hind wings slightly longer than tegmina. Fore and middle tibiae with 5 pairs of spurs (including a pair of apical spurs) on ventral margin, apical spurs short; hind femora with 10 inner spines and 6–7 outer spines on ventral margin; hind tibiae with 6 inner spines and 7 outer spines on dorsal margin, a pair of ventral spurs near apex, a pair of apical spurs on dorsal margin and 2 pairs of apical spurs on ventral margin. Eighth abdominal tergite enlarged; apex of ninth abdominal tergite curved downwards, lateral margins of apex of ninth abdominal tergite with a pair of characteristic S-curved hooks, the hooks with many hairs on inner side; tenth abdominal tergite with a pair of short processes sharply decurved, basal part of processes cylindrical, apical part slightly compressed and obtuse, with 4 unconspicuous denticles only at very apex. Subgenital plate simple, broader than long, with emargination at middle of apex; styli short, cylindrical, on both sides of subgenital plate near apex. Cerci slender, with long hairs. Apex of male abdomen as in Figs. 10–11.

Coloration. Body yellowish brown. Occiput black, genae with a pair of black stripes; frons with fine additional dark areas; eyes brown; carina surrounding antennal sockets black; dorsal margin of scape black; other part of antenna dark brown. Pronotum with black margins, 2 pairs of black spots and a small suborbicular black spot as in Figs. 13, 27. Veins on tegmina and hind wings dark brown, cells hyaline. All spines and spurs on legs darkened; basal part of tibia dark brown. Tergites of basal part of abdomen yellowish at base and black in apical half; tergites of apical part of abdomen entirely black. Hooks of ninth tergite black, inner margin yellowish. Apical part of processes of male tenth abdominal tergite blackish brown.

Female. Unknown.

Measurements (mm). Body: 322.0; pronotum: 35.5; hind femora: 315.5; tegmina: 337.0.

Type material. Holotype, male, Bawangling, Changjiang, Hainan, 8 June, 2010, collected by Rui-Lian Li and Ming Qiu.

Discussion. The new species is similar to W. finitima Gorochov, 2002 , but it is easily recognisable by the short processes (not reaching apices of cerci) of male tenth abdominal tergite; middle of pronotum near hind margin with a suborbicular black spot.

Distribution. China (Hainan).

Etymology. The name of the new species refers to the shorter processes of male’s tenth abdominal tergite.

FIGURES 16–22. Woznessenskia bimacula sp. nov.: 16. R-M and CuA1-CuA2 areas of tegmina; 17. apex of male abdomen in lateral view; 18. apex of male abdomen in apical view; 19. subgenital plate of male in ventral view; 20. head and pronotum in dorsal view; 21. frons in frontal view; 22. apex of process of male tenth abdominal tergite in lateral view; scale bars = 1mm.

FIGURES 23–32. Frons (23–25), pronotum (26–28), and habitus (29–32) of Woznessenskia species: 23, 26, 29–30, W. arcoida sp. nov.; 24, 27, 31. W. brevisa sp. nov.; 25, 28, 32. W. bimacula sp. nov.; 23–28, 30–32. male, 29. female.
