Helconidea sibirica Tobias, 1967: 227 View in CoL -228; Belokobylskij, 1998: 418; Ku, Belokobylskij et Cha, 2001: 165.

Description. Redescribed female of Xinjia Mt.: Length of body (excluding ovipositor sheath) 8.8 mm, of setose part of ovipositor sheath 4.6 mm, of fore wing 6.5 mm.

Head. Antennal segments 32, length of third segment almost equal to fourth segment; length of third, fourth and penultimate segments 2.5, 2.5 and 1.2 times their width, respectively; length of maxillary palp 1.5 times height of head; head in frontal view 0.8 times as long as wide; length of eye in dorsal view equal to length of temple; malar suture distinct; length of malar space equal to basal width of mandible, 0.5 times maximum width of eye. POL:OD:OOL = 10:7:20; vertex densely punctate; temple punctate, coarsely rugose near mandible; occipital carina complete and distinct; frons shallowly depressed anteriorly, hardly elevated, without distinct crest and weakly rugose laterally, medially rugose-punctate and with rather weakly protruding lamella ( Fig. 13 View FIGURE 13 I); face rugose-reticulate; clypeus reticulate-punctate dorsally and smooth ventrally.

Mesosoma. Twice as long as high; pronope deep; side of pronotum medially coarsely crenulate and dorsally rugose; notauli narrow and deep, crenulate, posteriorly coarsely rugose and with a medial carina; mesoscutum punctate; mesoscutal lobes finely rugose laterally; scutellar sulcus with one carina and several lateral crenulae; scutellum smooth anteriorly, rugose-punctate laterally and posteriorly; precoxal sulcus complete, rugose-crenulate; propodeum rugose-reticulate and with a very short carina anteriorly.

Wings. Fore wing: about 3 times as long as wide. 1-M curved; pterostigma 2.5 times as long as wide; r:3- SR:SR1 = 11:20:72; 2-SR:3-SR:r-m = 28:27:22; 1-M:m-cu = 32:18; SR1 posteriorly slightly curved; cu-a inclivous, postfurcal; 1-CU1 very short; r-m vertical. Hind wing: 1-M:1r-m = 15:23; cu-a slightly inclivous and posteriorly slightly curved towards wing base.

Legs. Length of fore tarsus 1.2 times fore tibia; length of femur, tibia and basitarsus of hind leg 2.9 (excluding tooth), 8.7 and 5.2 times their width, respectively; hind femur robust, ventrally rugose and with a sharp ventral tooth; length of outer and inner hind tibia spur both 0.2 times basitarsus.

Metasoma. First tergite widened posteriorly, coarsely rugose-reticulate, its dorsal carinae distinct in basal 0.9 of tergite, length of first tergite 1.6 times its apical width; second tergite punctate-striate baso-laterally; ovipositor sheath 1.1 times as long as metasoma, 1.3 times as long as hind tibia, 1.5 times as long as mesosoma and 0.7 times as long as fore wing.

Colour. Black; palpi yellow; tegulum, fore and middle coxae and hind leg dark reddish-brown (but hind tarsus pale yellow); middle of mandible, fore and middle trochanters and trochantelli, femora and tibiae reddish brown; antenna, pterostigma and most veins brown; wing membrane light brown.

Variation. Body length (excluding ovipositor sheath) 10.0– 11.5 mm, fore wing length 8.5–9.5 mm; antennal segments 32–34; length of eye in dorsal view 1.0-1.1 times length of temple; dorsal carinae of first tergite distinct at basal 0.7-0.9 of tergite; length of first tergite 1.6-1.7 times its apical width; length of ovipositor sheath 0.70-0.87 times fore wing and 0.5–0.8 times body.

Material examined. 1♀, China, Shaanxi prov., Xinjia Mt., 28–30.VI.1992, Junhua He , No. 200011620 ( ZJUH) ; 1♀, China, Shaanxi prov., Zhouzhi, Houzhenzi, 2–3.VI.1998, Yun Ma , No. 981535 ( ZJUH) ; 2♀, NW China, Shaanxi prov., Qinling Mts, Foping, near Biological Station , Malaise trap, 33˚39'29"N 107˚48'25"E, 29.V.-19.VI.2016, c 1710 m, J-L. Tan & C. v. Achterberg ( NWUX, RMNH) .

Comparative diagnosis. Very similar to H. hei sp. nov. and differs mainly by the anteriorly shallow frontal depression (deep anteriorly in H. hei ), ventrally distinctly curved occipital carina (slightly curved) and basally pale palpi (infuscate).

Host. Unknown.

Distribution. China (Shaanxi); Korea, Russia (Far East). New record for China.
