Type locality. “ Teppratan mountain , Nakornsawan Province at 15°54′52″N, 99°53′63″E” [the last number is probably 53] .

Diagnosis. A Clostophis species with detached and descending last quarter of the body whorl, a wide umbilicus, and a well-developed, deeply situated parietal tooth.

Remarks. Clostophis proboscideus differs from C. sankeyi by the more numerous and more tightly coiled whorls, the lower spire, and the wider umbilicus.
