Didemnum elongatum Sluiter, 1909: 66 ; Kott, 2001: 173.

Distribution. New record: Western Australia (off Cape Jaubert, WAM 186.93). Previously recorded (see Kott, 2001): Indonesia, NW and NE Australia.

Description. The new record is a fragment of a thin, white colony with a raspy surface caused by the large crowded spicules, which also line the margins of the stellate apertures. Surface and basal test are both thin.

Remarks. The spicules (to 0.1 mm in diameter with relatively short but numerous rays, some blunt, some pointed) are identical with those previously reported for this species ( Kott, 2001).
