Elapoides Sieboldi : Müller 1882: 142. R (habdosoma) nasale: Cope 1885: 385 . Catostoma chalybeum: Slevin 1939: 404 . Geophis nasalis: Smith 1946b: 4 .

Syntypes. Unclear, at least four: Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia (ANSP) 3319­21 and National Museum of Natural History (USNM) 12425A, collected by Van Patten. Downs (1967: 160) designated ANSP 3320, an adult female, the lectotype.

Type­locality. Near Guatemala City.

Distribution. Pacific versant of Chiapas, Mexico to eastern Guatemala, 600­1500 m elevation.

Species group. sieboldi ( Downs 1967) .
