Diagnosis. This species differs from the other species of the mutabilis group in mesonotum yellow, with 3 brown, longitudinal stripes medially and sublaterally ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2. A, B I), and pleura yellow, with multiple dark brown to black patches ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2. A, B J).

Description. Male and female: Frons yellow to yellowish brown. Pedicel mostly yellowish brown; first flagellomere light yellow. Palpus dark brown in male, black in female. Acrostichal setulae in ca. 12–14 irregular rows ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2. A, B C). Scutellum dark brown to black along basal margin, yellow medially, pale yellow along distal margin ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2. A, B I). Halter yellow basally, white apically ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2. A, B J). Mid- and hind-legs brown on knees. Abdominal tergites yellow, with brown patches ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 F–I). Male terminalia: Epandrium with 3 setae near posterior margin and 3 setae on ventral corner per side ( Fig. 7 View FIGURE 7 A). Paramere with 4 sensilla distally ( Fig. 7 View FIGURE 7 B). Aedeagus thick basally, with pubescence on distal 1/3 ( Fig. 7 View FIGURE 7 B).
