Notes. This species, described from Papua New Guinea, belongs to the same group as L. cana (Walker) , having hind coxa bare behind, meron with a group of setulae below spiracle, hind tibia with a pv apical seta, parafacial almost wholly bare, ♂ hind tarsomere 1 expanded, ♂ frontal triangle enlarged and occupying virtually all the frontal vitta and with little distinction between frontal triangle and fronto-orbital plates.

It has 4 post dc setae, fore tibia with a pv seta, hind tibia with a short ad, and vibrissa hair-like. In addition, it has mid femur with 2 preapical p setae, fore femur with the pv row comprising fine weak setae, hind femur with 1 av at middle and d preapical present, tergite 5 with 1 pair of lateral discal setae.

In addition to the lectotype ♂ and paralectotype ♀ in ZMHU, I have also seen the paralectotypes in HNHM (3♂ 3♀). These have 3 subequal and well-spaced post dc, and appear to belong to L. cana .
