Subsequent to its discovery in Germany in 1994 (see Jaschhof 1997), Peromyia gryphiswaldensis was found again once in Japan ( Jaschhof 2001). Here the species is shown to occur in southern Sweden .

Previous distribution. Germany, Japan. Occurrence in Sweden: Skåne, Öland.

Specimens studied. SWEDEN: male (CEC247), Skåne, Simrishamn , Stenshuvud NP, beech forest, 26 May– 28 June 2010, Malaise trap, M. & C. Jaschhof; male (CEC248), Öland, Borgholm, Rönnerum-Abbantorp NR, mixed deciduous forest with much hornbeam , 23 May–16 June 2015, Malaise trap, M. & C. Jaschhof.
