Diagnosis: Male. Length (1.90 mm). Width (0.95– 0.60 mm). Subovate; cuticle dark brown, anterior third of femora yellow. Vestiture of sparse recumbent ochreous to dark brown scales, clavate scales. Head with scales almost reaching antennal insertions; rostral basal half coarsely punctured, apical half finely punctate and glossy, scrobes lateroventral, reaching the margin of eyes, antenna inserted at middle of rostrum, antenna as in P. velizi . Pronotum subcylindrical, annulate anteriorly, wider in the middle, punctures deep and wide only anteriorly, narrower than elytra, with a longitudinal carina in the middle; two dorsal vittae of ochreous scales, postocular lobes with vibrissae. Elytra with humeri produced but truncated, flanks angulate, elytra dorsum surface basal several small tubercles, two large subconical and laterally compressed tubercles on base of elytral declivity, both tubercles between striae 3 and 4, punctate-striate, punctures deep, striae 10 complete. Abdominal ventrites with sparse deep punctures, punctures bearing setae or not, suture between abdominal ventrite 1 and 2 incomplete, abdominal ventrites 3 and 4 length together subequal to abdominal ventrite 2, abdominal ventrite 5 apex with two cuspids bearing tufts of setae. Metanepisternal suture swollen. All femora unarmed, tibia uncinate. Pedon subparallel, temones 1.9x longer than pedon, anterior genital sclerite plate-like, posterior genital sclerite sharp at extremes.

Female. Length (2.30–2.20). Width (1.10– 0.70 mm). As for the male except scales not reaching antennal insertions; abdomen narrower, humeri rounded, ventrite 5 flat without tufts of setae.

Geographic Distribution. Guatemala (Huehuetenango).

Derivation of the specific name. Patronym, named after José Monzón Sierra, an entomologist at the Universi- dad del Valle de Guatemala.

Material examined: 2♂♂ 3♀♀ ( CMNC). Holotype ♂ ( CMNC): GUATEMALA: Huehuetenango, Puerta del Cielo, 3400m, 15.55307 -91.60338, 14 Jun 2015, R. Anderson, fir-shrub litter 2015-144 / Holotype ♂ Plumolepilius monzoni Barrios-Izás sp. nov. Aedeagus extracted. Paratypes: same data as holotype (1♀, CMNC). Same data as holotype except for 3358m, 15.55332 -91.60448, fir-moss litter, 2015-143 (1♂ 1♀, CMNC). GUATEMALA: Huehuetenango, Puerta del Cielo, 3400m, 15.55307 -91.60338, 13 Jun 2015, B. Abies, Manta golpeo, M. Barrios, MBI517 (1♀, CMNC).
