Examined types. Olegius turkmenicus Komarov, 1996 , holotype ♀ with labels: “Turkmenia, 40 km E / of Nebit-Dag, SE / Chilmamedkum Sands / 25.05.1993 Yu. Arzanow ”; “Kyzyl-Takyr / at light” (printed on white label), and: “ Holotypus Olegius turkmenicus sp.n. / Komarov det., 1996.” (“ Holotypus ” printed, the rest handwritten by E.V. Komarov on red label). ZIN.

Additional examined material: 1 ♀ with label “ Tunisie / 7.1906 / Kébilli ” and “ Pogonopsis pallida Bed. / Comparé au TYPE ” ; 1 ♂, 1 ♀: “ Tunisie / 7.1906 / Kébilli” “ Tunisie, Kébilli, 7.1906”, “ Pogonopsis pallida Bedel ” and “Muséum Paris / Ex M. Maindron / G. Babault 1939” (black print on blue label). MNHN (The species was described from Kébilli , so these specimens can be regarded as topotypes) ; 3 ♀♀, Iran, Kerman, Lut desert, Ab-e Yalan , 396 m, 29°34´50.5 N, 58°58´25.3 E, 29.iii.2017; H. Remark. Azadbakhsh (2019) synonymized Olegius Komarov, 1996 with Pogonopsis Bedel, 1898 , but made no statement at the species level. After study of the holotype of Olegius turkmenicus we synonymize O. turkmenicus with P. pallida .

Distribution. So far, the species is known from the deserts in Tunisia and Turkmenistan ( Löbl & Löbl 2017), and now also from the Lut desert in Iran.
