( Fig. 12 View FIGURE 12 )

Description. Female. Length of body (excluding ovipositor sheath) 5.5 mm, of setose part of ovipositor sheath 3.8 mm, of fore wing 4.2 mm.

Head. Antennal segments 27, length of third segment almost equal to fourth segment; length of third, fourth and penultimate segments 2.8, 2.8 and 1.3 times their width, respectively; length of maxillary palp 1.5 times height of head; head 0.8 times as long as wide in anterior view; length of eye 1.9 times temple in dorsal view; length of malar space 1.3 times basal width of mandible and 0.3 times maximum width of eye; malar suture weakly impressed; POL:OD:OOL = 11:9:20; vertex sparsely punctate and shiny; temple punctate, but rugose near mandible; occipital carina complete and distinct; frons crest-shaped elevated and smooth latero-dorsally, crenulate latero-ventrally, medially smooth and with a strongly protruding lamella; face coarsely rugose-reticulate; clypeus weakly convex, dorsally reticulate-punctate and ventrally striate.

Mesosoma. Length 2.4 times its height; pronope transverse and deep; side of pronotum medially crenulate, antero-dorsally punctate, postero-dorsally rugose-punctate and ventrally coarsely striate; mesoscutum densely punctate; notauli narrow and shallow, crenulate, posteriorly coarsely reticulate and with a medial carina; scutellar sulcus with one carina and several lateral crenulae; scutellum densely punctate and with lateral carinae; precoxal sulcus wide, coarsely rugose punctate-crenulate and anteriorly coarsely rugose; metanotum with a complete median carina; propodeum weakly punctate basally, remainder coarsely reticulate and with a transverse carina.

Wings. Fore wing: about 3 times as long as wide. 1-M almost straight; pterostigma 2.6 times as long as wide; r:3-SR:SR1 = 13:10:67; 2-SR:3-SR:r-m = 19:10:15; 1-M:m-cu = 31:15; SR1 straight; cu-a inclivous and postfurcal; 1-CU1:2-CU1 = 5:24; r-m inclivous. Hind wing: 1-M:1r-m = 7:20; cu-a inclivous.

Legs. Length of fore tarsus 1.4 times fore tibia; length of femur, tibia and basitarsus of hind leg 3.5 (excluding tooth), 8.7 and 4.5 times their width, respectively; length of outer and inner hind tibia spur both 0.3 times basitarsus; hind femur robust, ventrally rugose and with a tooth.

Metasoma. First tergite widened posteriorly, enclosed middle part rugose-reticulate, lateral parts coarsely longitudinally striate-carinate and its dorsal carinae complete ( Fig. 12 View FIGURE 12 C); length of first tergite 1.2 times its apical width; second tergite smooth; ovipositor sheath 1.9 times as long as metasoma, 1.9 times as long as hind tibia and 0.9 times as long as fore wing.

Colour. Black; basal segments of palpi dark brown and remainder yellow; antenna dark brown, but five basal segments more or less pale brown; 12th antennal segment ivory; fore and middle legs, hind coxa, trochanter, trochantellus, femur and tarsus yellow; hind tibia blackish; tegulum, and metasoma reddish brown; ovipositor sheath pale brown apically; pterostigma and most veins brown; wing membrane faintly fumose.

Variation. Body length 7.2–8.0 mm; fore wing length 5.5–6.5 mm; antennal segments 26–27; length of exserted part of ovipositor 5.0– 5.2 mm; second-fourth antennal segments pale brown.

Male. Body length 9.2–9.7 mm; antennal segments beyond 29th segment missing. Similar to female, but 2nd -4th antennal segments yellowish; first tergite 1.6 times as long as its apical width, its dorsal carinae complete and part between dorsal carinae reticulate, lateral parts rugose-reticulate; metasoma black.

Material examined. Holotype ♀, China, Zhejiang prov., Tianmu Mt., VIII.1981, Junhua He , No. 816309 ( ZJUH) . Paratypes: 1♀ 2♂♂, same data as holotype, ( ZJUH) .

Comparative diagnosis. This new species is similar to W. spinator (Lepeletier, 1825) , but differs in having first tergite of female with parallel lateral carinae beside dorsal carinae (mainly smooth in W. spinator ); antenna of female with 1 white or ivory segment and with 26–27 segments (antenna with 3 white segments and with 29–35 segments), hind femur slenderer (robust); precoxal sulcus distinctly impressed, wide, coarsely rugose punctatecrenulate, anteriorly coarsely rugose (shallow and foveate-punctate) and propodeum with a transverse carina (transverse carina absent).

Host. Unknown.

Etymology. It is named after its short antenna with comparatively few segments and short pale band.
