Locus typicus: USA, Montana, GlacIer NatIonal Park, JackSon TrIal.

Holotype: Male, vIII.1997, leg. F. RöSchmann (PWMP).

Description. Male. Head. Eye brIdge 3 facetS wIde; flagellomereS brown, Scape and pedIcel paler; 4th flagellomere long, wIth l/w-IndeX of 3.5, wIth haIrS aS long aS the dIameter, neck rather long. PalpuS 3-Segmented; the fIrSt Segment wIth one brIStle and a deepened SenSory pIt. Thorax. BrownISh, coXae and femora paler; Scutum wIth Short and fIne haIrS, a few lateral brIStleS are Stronger; Scutellum wIth two long brIStleS; poSterIor pronotum bare. WIngS pale; R1 = R; c = 2/3 w; y longer X; y wIth 1–2 macrotrIchIa; poSterIor wIng veInS obvIouS, wIthout macrotrIchIa. Haltere Short, knobS brownISh. LegS Somewhat paler than thoraX; tIbIal organ wIth a horSeShoe-lIke patch of brIStleS; SpurS of the mIddle and the hInd tIbIae longer than the apeX of tIbIa wIde; clawS wIthout teeth. Abdomen. HypopygIum wIthout an IntergonocoXal lobe or patch of brIStle; the ventral Inner margIn of gonocoXIteS wIth SparSe and Short haIrS; gonoStyluS concaved at the Inner SIde, wIth a Strong apIcal tooth and two hyalIne SpIneS, one above and the other below the tooth; In the mIddle of the Inner SIde wIth a very long, upwardS curved SpIne on a large, arm-lIke baSe. The tegmen IS longer than wIde, wIth a pyramId-lIke Inner Structure and a poorly SclerotIzed baSal part, wIth fIne teeth and a rather Short aedeaguS. Body length: 3.0 mm.

Comments. The SpecIeS IS characterIzed by a Strong apIcal tooth on the gonoStyluS, accompanIed by two hyalIne SpIneS. ESpecIally StrIkIng IS a very long, upwardS curved SpIne located In the mIddle of gonoStyluS on a long, arm-lIke baSe. FlagellomereS are long wIth an l/w-IndeX of about 3.5.

Distribution. USA (Montana).
