Ceracia mucronifera Rondani, 1865 View in CoL
ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1865c: 222.
TYPE LOCALITY: “ in Apennino parmensi [ Parmese Apennines ( Italy)]” .
TYPE MATERIAL: 6 ♂♂, syntypes (one missing mid-legs; one missing right mid-leg; one missing right fore- and left mid-legs) ( MZUF: Box 17): Ceracia Rndn. / mucronifera Rnd. / 881.
CURRENT STATUS: valid species ( Herting & Dely-Draskovits 1993: 174, Pape et al. 1995: 18, Cerretti 2010: 161, O’Hara & Cerretti 2016: 64, O’Hara et al. 2020: 187).
REMARKS: Rondani (1865c: 222) described Ceracia mucronifera from just the male sex without specifying the exact number of specimens: “ Mas bis lectus [the male collected twice]”. We found six syntypes in this study.A MZUF female numbered “881” is not included in the type series because of its sex. Herting (1969: 196) reported seven males in the MZUF. We found only six specimens in the MZUF.
