TYPE LOCALITY: “ in apennino parmensi … ad Neapolim [Parmese Apennines … Naples ( Italy)]” .

TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂, syntype ( MZUF: Box 23): Acyglossa Rndn. / diversa Rnd., Apenn. [= Apennines] / 1241; 1 ♂, syntype (missing both mid legs) ( OUMNH General Collection: Box 139.5): syntype / II / Acyglossa divergens Rd. / sec. typ. Rondanii / A. divergens Ex. Coll. Kow / A. diversa Rond. ♂, Eur. merid. [= South Europe] / Acyglossa diversa Rond. Anth. corvina Lw.

CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Acyglossa atramentaria ( Meigen, 1826) View in CoL ( Dely-Draskovits 1993: 13, Gorodkov et al. 1995: 5).

REMARKS: Rondani (1866a: 175) described Acyglossa diversa from two males: “ Mares duos tantum observavi, unum a me lectum in apennino parmensi; alium a prof. A. Costa missum, ad Neapolim inventum [I saw only two males, one collected by myself in Parmese Apennines; the other sent by prof. A. Costa, found in Naples]”. We found both syntypes in this study .
