TYPE LOCALITY: “ in … agri parmensis , praesertim collinis… Ab Etruria [Parmese territory, above all on hills… Etruria (= Tuscany) ( Italy)]”.

CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Miltogrammidium taeniatum ( Meigen, 1824) ( Verves 1986: 78) ; junior synonym of Miltogramma taeniata Meigen, 1824 View in CoL ( Pape 1988: 13, 1996: 117; Krčmar et al. 2019: 110).

REMARKS: Rondani (1859b: 218) described both sexes of Miltogramma pilimana without specifying the exact number of specimens, but giving a single measurement of length from material he had collected and also received from F.M. Piccioli and G. Passerini. Pape (1988: 13) designated a lectotype (♂) and paralectotypes (2 ♂♂, 4 ♀♀) but did not mention an additional seven specimens: two in the MZUF, two in the MSNC, one in the MS- NPV and two in the OUMNH (all are paralectotypes).
