ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1859b: 100 (key), 103 (description).

TYPE LOCALITY: “ in agro parmensi [Parmese territory ( Italy)]”.

TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂, syntype (MZUF: Box 11): Nemorilla Rnd. / pumila Rnd. / 561.

CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Meigenia mutabilis (Fallén, 1810) ( Herting & Dely-Draskovits 1993: 146) .

REMARKS: Rondani (1859b: 103) described Nemorilla pumila from three males: “ quia tres masculi a me observati [three males observed by me]”. We found only one of the three male syntypes. A female numbered “561” in the MZUF is not included in the type series because of its sex .
